FAQs

  • We are located at 225 E. Market Street in downtown York on the corner of Queen and East Market Streets across from the Martin Memorial Public Library. Entrance to the parking areas can be made from either East Market St. or from Philadelphia St.

  • Parking is available at in the parking lot behind the church (shared with Martin Library) with overflow parking in the Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff lot on the corner of King and Queen Streets. Please park in the yellow and purple spots as the white spots are owned by residents. Handicapped Parking is also available in front of the church and along the fence by the chapel.

  • Our church consists of several buildings and getting around can be a bit confusing. Entrances to all three services are accessible via the main parking lot off of Market Street.

The 8:30 AM service takes place in the Chapel. You can enter through the back doors under the overhang or you can enter through the side door across from the cemetery and next to the fountain if you need wheelchair accessibility.

The 10:45 AM service takes place in the Sanctuary. The easiest entrance to find is the ramp entrance next to the parking lot and cemetery. This door will lead you directly into the Sanctuary.

The 12:00 PM service takes place in Café 225. The easiest entrance to use is the Queen St. doors, which lead straight to the Café. The Kerr building doors next to the cemetery may also be used if you need a handicap accessible entrance.

Once inside the main building, you will find maps and signs to guide you. Feel free to stop by the Hospitality Station outside the main sanctuary for additional directions and information.

  • On Sundays, we typically offer three worship services.

We offer a smaller traditional worship service at 8:30 AM in the Chapel. This service includes communion each week and uses a small organ. Activity bags are available in the back for young children. This is a good service for you if you like a traditional feel, but with a more intimate setting.

We offer a larger traditional worship service at 10:45 AM in the Sanctuary. This service includes communion once a month and includes the large organ, a Children’s Blessing, and a “Wiggle and Rock” area for young children to be able to color or do quiet activities during the service. This service also includes musical participation by our Chancel Choir and Bell Choir throughout the year. This is a good service for you if you like traditional hymns, you love the feeling of a big sanctuary, or you want to teach your children about traditional worship structures while they can also color or quietly play.

We offer a smaller, creative, contemporary service at 12:00 PM in our Café 225. This service is very family-friendly and is designed almost like a community workshop with contemporary music. Seating is typically in some type of circle and food is always available (and Playdoh to play with!). This service includes a hands-on activity and a time for community reflection following the Bible story. Our contemporary service is uniquely creative, intentionally intergenerational, LGBTQ+-friendly, and neurodivergent-affirming. This service also includes communion each week. This is a good service for you if you have felt unwelcome or unsafe in churches in the past, have never been to church before, enjoy processing faith through art or conversation rather than a standard sermon, prefer a laid back worship setting, have struggled to feel connected to other church communities, or want your kids to be able to participate in the service as much as you.

  • God cares more about YOU than what you wear, so you should be comfortable! Having said that, we know visiting new churches can be stressful and sometimes you just want to fit in. The wardrobe is fairly mixed in the 8:30 AM and 10:45 AM Traditional Services— people where anything from nice jeans to a suit and tie. Most people dress casually for the 12:00 PM Contemporary Service— some people might where a cotton dress while others might wear ripped jeans.
