Fall Retreat: Our Stories, God's Story
All adults and youth are invited to this special day set apart to deepen our relationships with God, with one another, and with ourselves. Through a variety of activities, we’ll trace the big messy story of God (from creation to redemption, with Jesus Christ at the center of it all) and explore how the stories of our own lives, as individuals and as a community, connect with God’s bigger story. There will be time for conversation, Bible study, art, teaching, and creative forms of prayer. We’ll also spend some time considering how we might tell the stories of God’s work in our lives to others, and how we can learn to listen well to the sacred stories others share. The day will conclude with a mini Story Slam—an opportunity to practice telling our stories, or simply listen to the stories others tell.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided. If possible, please sign up by contacting the church office at office@fpcyork.org or 717-843-8041.

Lunch & Learn
Join us Sunday, September 28th in Christine Thomas Hall for our first Lunch & Learn of the program year. There will be food, fellowship, faith, and fun! Please sign up by contacting the Fellowship Committee.

Memoirs of Faith Book Club
In June, many of us enjoyed hearing author Jeff Chu speak here at FPC about his new memoir exploring faith, identity, community, farming, and food. Whether or not you were able to attend that event, join us to discuss this moving, funny, and thought-provoking story of Jeff’s experience at Princeton Theological Seminary’s “Farminary”— a twenty-one-acre working farm where seminary students learn to cultivate the earth while examining the big questions of life and faith. You can attend in-person or on Zoom!

This will be an evening of delicious food, great conversation, and wonderful music. This is the only event in our concert series with an entry cost as it is a fundraiser for FPC with shared benefits between Abendmusik and the church. We hope to see you there!

Rally Day
Join us Sunday, September 7th following a combined 10:00 AM worship service for Rally Day! Rally Day is an annual tradition in which almost all of the ministries of the church set up booths with games, activities, and information about their ministry. This is an excellent Sunday to visit FPC and find out how to get involved! There will be pancakes as well as an Open House for our Caring Ministry (our on-site food pantry ministry).
