Youth Ministry

The purpose of the First Presbyterian Church
Youth Ministry is to encourage youth to establish and nurture a loving and meaningful personal relationship with Jesus Christ through fun, fellowship, prayer, discipleship, worship and shared faith.

The Youth Ministry also seeks to support families of youth through parent education, small group support, and basic counseling services.

 Jr. High (grades 6-8) Ministry

This group meets on a weekly basis from September through early June on Sunday afternoons from 5:00-6:30 p.m. These meetings include fellowship time, games, snacks, music, small group experiences, and scripture-based lessons.  The leadership for this group is composed of the Directors of Youth Ministry, female and male adult lay leaders, and female and male senior high students.  There are approximately four students for every leader. The Junior High are involved in the annual 30 Hour Famine to raise funds for starving people, a summer trip to a Junior high only youth conference, retreats, lock-ins, and other social and service activities.
