First Presbyterian Church of York is committed to reaching out from our neighborhood to people in need around the world. The Mission Committee of FPC York is dedicated to fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission of making disciples of all nations.
We are an urban church working within our local neighborhood to witness the love of Christ. Each year, we hold a number of events, including two community meals; one on Palm Sunday and one at Thanksgiving. See this feature in the York Daily Record for more about the origins of these meals and the fellowship they bring.
The Caring Ministry is an outreach of FPC that serves those in need in York City and York County. Through coordination of services through other local agencies, we are able to provide food assistance, utility costs relief, prescription medications and referral to others who can help.
Our Stephen Ministers are trained lay persons within our congregation who provide confidential Christ-centered care giving to adults within our congregation and community. These care givers provide assistance to those who may be going through difficult life situations and are hurting.
